Cookery Course

Eckington Manor Cookery School opened in September 2007 and is located on a working farm set in beautiful countryside on the edge of the Cotswolds, just outside the market town of Pershore in Worcestershire.

The school offers half day cookery demonstration days, 1 and 2 day courses as well as a range of Aga courses.  All of the courses are held in a state of the art, spacious open plan classroom with 10 individual work stations which are equipped with their own fully stocked refrigerator, ranges by Falcon and Rangemaster, as well as Agas.  A large demonstration unit has been created for group teaching and demonstrations, complete with overhead flat screen TVs which display close-ups of dishes being prepared.

Relaxed lunches and dinners are served in an  informal conservatory style dining room.
The courses are run in small groups for all levels of ability under the expert guidance of our Head Tutor Mark Devonshire, who ran Rick Stein’s Cookery School in Padstow for 7 years. Mark and the team have a relaxed, friendly and informal teaching style.

The school is supplied with fresh, locally sourced, seasonal ingredients as well as having a flourishing herb and vegetable garden which provides produce for the school.  The farm supplies the cookery school with beef, lamb and Gloucester Old Spot pork.

The wide variety of cookery courses running throughout the year from Easy Entertaining and Exclusively Men to Bread & Baking and Great British Classics, provide a hands on opportunity for guest students to learn new skills, recipes and create delicious dishes whilst picking up some expert culinary tips. There are plenty of Christmas courses available, but are booking up fast. The Aga Christmas Taster still has places available.

The luxury accommodation for the school is located in an historic farmhouse, Lower End House just across the courtyard from the school which has been carefully restored and renovated with the highest attention to detail. This lovely period house is full of character and has 5 individually designed bedrooms with ensuite Fired Earth bathrooms and The White Company toiletries.
