Popina Book of Baking - Isidora Popovic

Popina Book of Baking

The Popina Book of Baking by Isidora Popovic is a charming book. Doubtlessly,  it will prove a great addition to every baker’s library or, if you haven’t  ever baked but fancy having a go – this is the book to start with.

I first met Isidora of Popina fame (see them at several farmers markets in and around London) the week before Christmas as I strolled down the Portobello Road.  She had only been in business a couple of months and I was lured into her stall by the grace and charm – everything looked so gorgeous; and yes, it tasted every bit as good.

Over the years I have watched her rise and rise – her business has grown but the quality has remained constant. And now she is sharing her trade secrets with you – dear reader – with her surprisingly simple and easy-to-follow recipes. Such stalwarts as Ginger and Chilli Caramel Biscuits, Parmesan and Seed Crackers, Easter Egg Biscuits, Cranberry Sherry and Vine Fruitcake, Rustic Plum Tart and Mini Cornbreads with Vegetables are here for the cooking.

Now over the years Isidora has also become a friend – so much so that she asked me to write the foreword to this book. A pleasure and I can safely say that the book is every bit as delightful as Isidora herself. So Food Lovers go forth – and bake………
